Suspect device made safe at Leitrim woodland
The bomb squad has made safe a suspect device which was found near Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim, this morning.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team was called in after an object was found in a rural woodland area, 5 kilometres north of Carrick on Shannon.

A cordon and road closures were put in place for public safety.
The team arrived on scene at 9.50am and the device was made safe at the scene, without the need for a controlled explosion.
The scene was declared safe at 12.15.
