'Interested parties' get first draft of report into Garda commissioner's departure

The first draft of the report into the resignation of Garda commissioner Martin Callinan has been released.

But the draft report from the Fennelly Commission is only being sent to "interested parties" who had a role in the events.

The commission has confirmed it has sent the first draft of the report this morning, as required by law, to give those people a chance to correct any errors or add further evidence.

It means the final report on Callinan's departure should be ready in about a month, which will then be sent to Enda Kenny for him to publish.
