Met Éireann: Sunny weather to continue 'with two-day interruption'

Forecasters have said that good weather looks set to last for a week, but there will be some rain in the south and east on Friday and Saturday.

According to Met Éireann, the whole country has been experiencing warm and sunny spells with highs of 18-20C.

Chief forecaster Gerald Fleming was speaking at the announcement of a new group to advise the Government on Climate Change.

He says the week ahead looks pretty good.

"We're going to have an interruption on Friday/Saturday in the south and east of the country, but then it looks like the high pressure builds back," he said.

"So we've probably got about a week of decent weather, with about a two-day interruption in the middle."
