Revenue retrieves more than €21m from tax defaulters

Revenue has recouped €21m from more than 100 tax defaulters in the first three months of the year.

Four of those people paid off a bill of more than €1m.

The biggest single bill was for Alan Millar - a landlord in Dublin - who had to pay Revenue more than €3m.

A total of five payments exceeded half a million.

Revenue says it publishes settlements when the voluntary disclosure options are not availed of and when the default is as a result of careless or deliberate behaviour.
