The HSE has launched an inquiry into an incident at Loughlinstown Hospital in Co Dublin in which an elderly woman with Alzheimers died - two days after she was attacked by a male patient.

It is understood the woman, who was in her 70s, was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin after the attack on May 17, where she underwent surgery and later died.
