Rent caps not enough to fight homelessness, says Fr McVerry

The Government is expected to perform a u-turn on rent caps by giving them the go-ahead in the private sector.

The Coalition had previously signaled its reluctance to interfere in the rental market, but the Environment Minister Alan Kelly looks set to ask for Cabinet approval for rent controls in the coming weeks.
