The inquiry into historical child abuse in the North has been extended to include three more institutions.

The inquiry will now investigate Hydebank Young Offenders' Centre in Belfast, as well as two former homes in Derry - Fort James and Harberton House.

The inquiry's chairman Anthony Hart said that he is also setting up a separate examination into the activities of the late Fr Brendan Smyth.
