Fire fighters battle 14 wild fires in Kerry; Homes at risk
Kerry County Council says homes in parts of the county are at risk today because of wild fires.
Meanwhile, the Air Corps has been requested to aid in attempts to bring a blaze in Killarney National Park under control.
This fire is believed to be one of the largest fires ever to take hold inside the National Park.
Currently, eight of Kerry's 10 fire brigade units are in Sneem, Kells, Portmagee, Dingle, Inch, and in the Derrycunnihy area of Killarney National Park.
According to Kerry County Council, family homes are at risk today in several of these areas.
Members of the public are advised to stay away from the Old Kenmare Road between Kenmare and Killarney, which is part of the 'Kerry Way' walking route.

Kerry County Council says the resources of Kerry Fire and Rescue Service are again very stretched today with wild fires.
Units responded to 17 incidents in 14 separate locations across the county.
Of these incidents 14 were wild fires.
The fire and rescue service is appealing to land and commonage rights owners never to engage in burning without first notifying the regional control centre.
Human lives the service says are being put at un-intended risk.
