Two die after head-on car collision in Antrim

Two men have died in a serious road accident in the North.

A 19-year-old and 26-year-old lost their lives in a two-vehicle head-on collision on the Cushendall Road in Ballycastle, Co Antrim at around 3.40am.

The crash, involving a Peugeot 207 and a Volkswagen Bora, has also left two women in a critical condition in hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

In the wake of the latest fatalities, police reissued a safety appeal.

PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Alan Todd said, “With many people enjoying some time off over the coming week, we are appealing to all road users to exercise caution, as our statistics illustrate that, like any other holiday period, there is an increased risk of collisions.”
