HSE pay out €67m for childbirth malpractice in hospitals
The HSE paid out €165m to patients and members of the public as a result of incidents in their hospitals over the past five years.
Around €67m of that was compensation after claims of medical malpractice during birth procedures.
Also, €3.6m of the payments happened as a result of patient exposure to "medication fluids, medical gases and biological hazards".
