Police arrest two men as Irish man remains critical in Liverpool hospital

An Irish man remains in a critical condition in hospital in Liverpool this morning after a violent attack over the weekend.

The 24-year-old was found with serious head injuries in an alleyway in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Merseyside Police have recovered CCTV footage of the incident but are still appealing for witnesses.

They believe the victim was assaulted following an altercation with two other men, near the Walkabout bar and Level nightclub in the city.

Two 19-year-old men were arrested yesterday for questioning over the incident.
