Two wind warnings are in place across Ireland until 9pm tonight.

A status orange alert is in place in counties Donegal, Galway and Mayo, which may see gusts of up to 100kms an hour sweeping along exposed coasts and hills.

Meanwhile, a status yellow alert was also issued for counties Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow, Leitrim, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

Temperatures are likely to remain "reasonable" for the weekend, and may even climb to as high as 15Cs in the east this afternoon.

Meteorologist Joan Blackburn said the northwest would be worst affected.

"Generally, it's windy conditions," she said. "The mean speeds in the north west are likely to be 55kms -75kms per hour, with gusts of up to 100kms per hour."
