Credit Union survey finds rise in pocket money for teens

It seems the economic recovery is finally being seen in the pocket money of Ireland's teenagers.

They are getting an average of €13 a week, and nearly a fifth get more than they did a year ago.

The figures compiled by the Irish League of Credit Unions also show three quarters of teenagers save their cash.

Half of them are saving for a phone or other gadget, 28% for a holiday, and 17% are putting away money for college.
