Three arrested over 1972 murder

Three men have been arrested in connection with the sectarian murder of a man in east Belfast over 40 years ago.

32-year-old Patrick Benstead was tortured and shot by the UDA before his body was found in Crossley Street in December 1972.

The three men, aged in their 60s and 70s, were arrested in England, Belfast and Newtownards.

They have been taken to Antrim Police Station.
