Gardaí recover jewellery after armed robbery in Galway

Four men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a jewellery shop in Galway this morning.

Just before 11am, four men, one of whom appeared to have a firearm, entered the premises on Shop Street.

They threatened staff and escaped on foot with a substantial amount of jewellery, including watches.

No one was injured in the incident.

In a follow-up operation, gardaí arrested four men in Galway city.

All of the jewellery has since been recovered, along with an imitation firearm.

The men are being detained at Galway Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
