A security alert at North Queen Street in North Belfast has now ended.

The army bomb squad were called to the scene, following reports of a suspicious object.

It has been described as a viable pipe bomb type device and has since been made safe. It was taken away for a forensic examination.

Roads have re-opened and residents have been allowed to return to their homes.
