Man in hospital after hit-and-run in Westmeath

A pedestrian in his 30's is been treated for serious injuries following a hit-and-run in County Westmeath.
It happened at Magheraboy Upper in Finea at 3pm yesterday afternoon, when a pedestrian was struck by a car which left the scene.
The man, who is in his late 30s, was seriously injured and taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
The car is described as a dark coloured saloon, which it is believed travelled from the Ballyjamesduff area of Cavan.
The road is closed while Gardaí carry out a technical examination.
Gardaí are asking anyone with information to come forward.
