A 'Status Yellow' snow and ice alert remains in place across Connacht and Ulster this morning.

Met Eireann is warning of snow on higher ground following wintry showers overnight.

AA roadwatch is warning of icy conditions in Longford, Westmeath, Offaly and around Ballinasloe in Galway, Carrick on Shannon in Leitrim and in parts of county Donegal.

The warning is valid until 10am this morning.
