Investigation into fire at Ballymun senior citizen's complex
Investigations are continuing into a fire which broke out at a senior citizen's complex at Ballymun in the early hours of this morning.
Gardaí said officers from Ballymun attended the scene, but no occupants were inside at the time.
They are currently awaiting forensic reports to determine the cause of the fire.
Sinn Féin councillor Noeleen Reilly said the fire broke out at about 2.30am this morning.
"I got a call from a concerned resident first thing this morning about the fire which broke out at about 2:30 am. I am happy to say no one was injured in the fire," she said.
"Dublin City Council alongside the Gardaí need to conduct a full enquiry into the circumstances around the fire to determine what happened and to ensure no such accident happens again and people's lives are not being put at risk."
