A sharp increase in robberies, assaults and thefts have been recorded in parts of south Dublin this year.

According to the Irish Independent, official records supplied by Gardaí show some parts of the capital experienced a 50% increase in burglaries, particularly in areas such as Kilmainham, Crumlin and Terenure.
