Rail passengers warned to check Christmas timetables

Iarnród Éireann is today warning rail passengers to check timetables before travelling over Christmas.
It comes as thousands of people head home for the holidays by train.
There will be no rail services on Christmas or St Stephens Day - including DART and Commuter services.

Today, Christmas Eve, will see some changes to schedules with services finishing earlier than normal.
Barry Kenny of Irish Rail is advising rail passengers to check the Irish Rail website for updates.
"DART and commuter services will operate to a Saturday schedule, and those services will operate up to until about 9pm on the evening," he said.
"People should just check the exact times for all of the routes today because of the slight changes that there are on the various routes."
Dublin Bus will also be operating a Saturday service.

Bus Éireann/Eurolines Cross-Channel Services will not operate today.
Normal Wednesday Bus Éireann services will operate until approximately 9pm with some exceptions.
