Man hospitalised after stabbing in Cork town

A man aged in his 40s is recovering in hospital in Cork this afternoon after being stabbed a number of times on Friday night.

The 49-year-old was found by a group of men on North Street in Skibbereen at around 11pm.

He had received multiple slash wounds and was taken to Cork University Hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time to contact Clonakilty Garda Station on 023 882 1570.
