HSE publishes crisis pregnancy services audit
An audit on Crisis Pregnancy Counselling Services has been published by the HSE.
It was carried out following alleged malpractice at a number of the services between January and June 2013, but was not published until gardaí had finished examining the cases.
Gardaí conducted an investigation and sent a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions - however, the DPP decided there will be no prosecution arising from the case.
The audit found that some services did not have written policies on quality assurance, supervision, or the Abortion Information Act.
11 actions have been implemented by the HSE in response to the recommendations contained within the audit report.
Six services were subjected to audit, including four against which allegations were made.
