Minister 'confident' Nama will play part in housing homeless
The Environment Minister Alan Kelly says he is confident Nama will put forward more housing as part of the Government’s new homeless action plan.
Mr Kelly will release a policy statement on the strategy later today which will see 260 extra beds made available to those who are homeless in the Dublin area.
The Minister says the "comprehensive" plan will be discussed by Cabinet ahead of its launch, and he is hopeful Nama will play a major role.
He said: "I am very hopeful that there will be a number of extra buildings brought into play and Nama will be asked to play a part in that as well.
"There are many vulnerable people and vulnerable families across the cities in Ireland and many issues will be dealt with as a part of this.
"A policy statement will be released later today on actions."
