The Government's roll-out of high-speed broadband to every second level school in the country has officially been completed.
Up to 780 schools across Ireland will now benefit from the €30m scheme which delivers speeds up to 10 times faster than average household broadband.
John Boland, the chief executive of HEA-net, says it will have a major impact on learning for all 375,000 secondary school students.
He said: "It opens the cloud, it opens up tha vast array of resources out there. Opportunities to look at seminars and lectures from other countries.
"Opportunities to collaborate with other schools, video conferencing and sharing and all that kind of thing."
