Pensioner stabbed in Cork burglary
Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary in Cork this afternoon, during which a pensioner was assaulted and stabbed.
The 68-year-old man returned to his house on the Cross Douglas Road in Cork City at around 4.30pm this afternoon, to find a male intruder.
A struggle ensued and the injured party received a head injury and what is believed to be a stab wound to his lower body.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital, where his injuries are described as non life threatening.
The suspect left the property with a computer and camera equipment.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
