Shell begins testing at Mayo refinery
A two-month period of testing is underway at Shell's onshore refinery in County Mayo.
It is due to begin producing gas from the Corrib field next year.
Residents have been told that some "flaring" can be expected from the stacks at the site, and it could last up to half an hour at a time.
The company says it will inform locals in advance that it is going to happen.
