Both scenes have been sealed off.

The first incident occured when a man in his 50s fell into a grain storage unit and became trapped in Cooladine in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. Efforts to release him were unsuccessful.

It happened shortly before 9am yesterday morning.

Separately, in Roscommon, another man - also in his 50s - received serious injuries when a pile of steel fell on him at a steel plant in Ballaghaderreen at around 11am yesterday.

He was airlifted to Galway University Hospital where he died a short time later.
