Woman dies in Cork crash; husband said to be injured

A 74 year old woman has died after the car in which she was travelling collided with a truck.

The crash happened at the Crookstown exit on the main Cork-to-Macroom road at around 1.15pm this afternoon.

The driver of the car, a man in his early 70's and believed to be the woman's husband, is in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital.

The driver of the lorry was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The road has now been closed and diversions are in place.
