The Dáil has had its proceedings suspended this afternoon after Sinn Féin deputy leader Mary Lou McDonald has refused to leave the chamber despite instruction from the Ceann Comhairle.

The Dáil has had its proceedings suspended this afternoon after Sinn Féin deputy leader Mary Lou McDonald has refused to leave the chamber despite instruction from the Ceann Comhairle.

Ms McDonald had used her party's speaking time to quiz the Tánaiste, Joan Burton, about water charges, but refused to resume her seat when her allocated time had expired.
