Father and son stabbed after finding intruder in their home in Kerry
A father and son are being treated in hospital in Co Kerry for stab wounds after they encountered an intruder at their home in Tralee.
The incident happened at a house in Woodbrook lawn in Monavalley at 5.50am this morning.
The intruder is believed to have interfered with a car parked in the driveway, and then walked around to the back of the house where he was confronted by the home owner and his son.
The father, aged 47, and his 17-year-old son are being treated for stab wounds.
Gardaí are at the scene and their injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
The intruder is described as being 5' 10" to 5' 11" tall with light blonde, short hair and of slim build.
He was wearing a black hoodie with white stripes on the sleeves.
