Gardaí recover Dublin pensioner's money from 'roof repair' conmen
Gardaí have recovered money taken from a Dublin pensioner by a gang of conmen.
Kathleen Byrne, 83, was pressured into handing over her life savings to a gang of men after they told her that she needed urgent work carried out on her roof.
Yesterday, three men were interviewed by Gardaí. They have since been released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
Kathleen said that she is still in shock by the whole ordeal.
"I didn't know where I was," she said. "I lost control of everything.
"I didn't know what I was doing because they talked and they talked and they talked and they talked - and I didn't know where me head was gone."
