Unions begin campaign to repeal 'anti-democratic' ban on abortion

The Trade Union campaign to repeal the 8th Amendment gets underway today.
The Eighth Amendment of the Constitution introduced a constitutional ban on abortion in 1983, following a divisive referendum.
Trade Unionists from Unite, the TUI, USI, the INMO and the NUJ will meet to discuss the campaign in Dublin this morning.
They have described the 8th amendment as "anti-democratic, anti-woman and bad law."
