Luas release video of near misses with pedestrians

Luas have released a video of pedestrians taking risks when they cross Luas tracks without looking.
Luas drivers have had to hit the emergency brake 71 times this year because someone has walked out in front of the tram.
The company has launched a new safety campaign urging pedestrians to look before they cross at a junction.
Driver Eddie Byrne says when they hit the brake, they make sure the passengers are okay before contacting base.
Mr Byrne said: "We will contact our control room and let them know what's happened. The control room will check to make sure the driver is alright.
"The driver will gather his thoughts and usually, what happened to me, is you get a sick feeling at the pit of your stomach, and then if you can you finish off your journey.
"If you can't return, then you leave the tram where it is and we'd have to get a spare driver down to take it back."
