Stage school legend Billie Barry dies

Billie Barry has died.

The legendary stage school teacher passed away peacefully at a Dublin nursing home this morning.

In a statement her family say she will be sadly missed by companion Jim, her four children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She ran the Billie Barrie stage school in Dublin for 50 years with some of her students going on to worldwide fame.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
