Toddler dies in van accident on driveway of his house

A toddler has died in Co Donegal after he was knocked down by a van.

It is understood the 22-month-old was injured when he was struck by the vehicle driving into the driveway of his house in Creeveglebe in Letterkenny at around a 6.45pm yesterday evening.

He was rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A post mortem will be carried out on the child's body this morning.

Gardaí say the incident is being treated as a tragic accident.
