It is reported that the first witnesses to be called before the banking inquiry this September will be two individuals who had initially predicted the Celtic Tiger property collapse.

At a private meeting of the Oireachtas committee inquiring into the banking crisis held last week, the names of former department of finance official Marie Mackle and the economist Morgan Kelly were suggested.
