Magdalene survivors abroad to have medical insurance paid by State

Survivors of the Magdalene Laundries who now live abroad are to have their medical insurance paid for by the State.

146 women living overseas have applied for compensation under the scheme opened last year, the vast majority of whom live in the UK.
