Aer Lingus roster row talks underway at Labour Court

Talks are taking place at the Labour Court in Dublin today to resolve a cabin crew roster row at Aer Lingus.

The negotiations between management and IMPACT officials broke down last week after three days of discussion.

As a result the union served the airline with notice of two more 24-hour strikes next Monday and Wednesday.

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar is calling for the threat of work stoppages to be lifted during the talks.

However Michael Landers from IMPACT says the union has not been asked to do so by the Labour Court.

"We haven't been asked by the courts to do that," Mr Landers said.

"At the moment our industrial action is going ahead.

"We await what emerges from the court. The solution to this dispute is now, I think, in the hands of he Labour Court"
