Three arrested after gardaí seize guns and silencers

Gardaí have arrested three men and seized a number firearms after they searched a car in Dublin this afternoon.

Detectives from the Garda Drugs Unit discovered two handguns, silencers and ammunition after they stopped the car on the Newcastle Road near Adamstown at around 3pm.

Three men, who are all aged in their 20s, were arrested at the scene.

They are being questioned at Lucan and Ronanstown Garda stations under the Offences against the State Act.

Gardaí say the investigation is ongoing.
