A man in his 70s is in hospital after an assault in Co Donegal last night.

The 73-year-old man was assaulted in Convent Road, Carndonagh, at around 9.30pm last night and was taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry where his condition is being described as serious.
