Gardaí catch almost 1,000 speeding motorists in 24 hours

Almost a thousand motorists have been caught speeding on the roads in the last 24 hours.

Hundreds of speed detection points remain in place across the country this morning and Garda figures reveal that Operation Slowdown has checked 124,818 vehicles in the last 24 hours, with 974 motorists driving over the speed limit.
