GSOC probe Dublin crash after Garda chase
The Garda Ombudsman is investigating a fatal crash in Dublin overnight.
A woman in her 20s was killed when the car she was a passenger in hit a lamp post in Fairview just before 2am this morning as it was being pursued by Gardaí.
The car had come to officers attention during a checkpoint in the area.
The woman was taken to the Mater hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
A post mortem will be carried out later today.
The 26-year-old male driver of the car was taken to Beaumont hospital where he is in a critical condition while a second passenger, a man in his 20s, is in a stable condition in St James Hospital.
