A 27-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 26-year-old Mairead Moran in Kilkenny on Thursday evening.

Shane Smyth with an address at Flat 3, Mc Guinness House, Evans Lane in Kilkenny city appeared before Judge Eamon O' Brien at a special sitting of Kilkenny district court this afternoon.
