Air passengers urged to arrive early during busy weekend

Passengers heading to the airports over the long weekend are being asked to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flight even if they've checked-in online.

Up to 400,000 people will pass through the country's airports between now and Bank Holiday Monday.

Dublin Airport said its own numbers will be up by 13% on last Easter.

"The more prepared you are going through that area, the smoother the process will be," said spokesperson Siobhan O'Donnell, reminding people to remove sharp objects from hand luggage.

"Those EU regulations concerning liquids are still in place, so passengers should familiarise themselves with those - and they're on the Dublin Airport website."
