ASTI: 90% of teachers think schools not ready for Junior Cycle

A new survey says just one in ten second level teachers believe schools are ready for the new Junior Cycle.

The finding is contained in a poll carried out for the Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland.

77% of teachers are calling for the reforms to be deferred for a year to give schools time to plan.

Moira Leydon , the ASTI deputy General Secretary, also says job satisfaction has fallen from 77% to 44%.
