Gardaí seize ammunition and gun in the capital

Gardaí have confiscated a firearm and a quantity of ammunition in Dublin.

The haul was discovered at Ladyswell on Church Road in Mulhuddart at around 1am this morning.

The seizure was made by Gardaí who came across a number of men acting suspicious. The men fled the scene and no arrests have yet been made.

The handgun and bullets are to undergo a forensic examination.

The discovery was made as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the west Dublin area.
