A man will appear in court this morning in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin's inner city on Wednesday night.

The victim, who was in his 40s, is believed to have died after a row broke out inside a derelict building near the O2 arena.

His body was found at a disused pub used by squatters on Dublin's North Wall Quay shortly after 10.45pm on Wednesday night.

A second man, in his late 20s, was also found at the scene and he was taken to the Mater Hospital, but his injuries are not said to be life-threatening.

The 36-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the death was questioned for several hours at Store Street Garda Station before being charged late last night.

He is due to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
