Cabinet to consider proposal on transgender people's identity

A proposal is being brought to Cabinet tomorrow which would recognise transgender people's new identity at the age of 16.

A new bill is already in the works which will allow over 18's to apply for a gender recognition certificate that allows their status to be recognised by the State.
