Rabbitte 'hopeful' of resolution to electricians' pay row

The Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte has said he is hopeful the dispute involving electricians' pay will be quickly resolved.

Thousands of members of the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union will go on strike on February 24 in a row over pay.

Electricians say they have yet to receive an almost 5% pay hike, outstanding since 2009.

The strike will hit a wide range of sectors and Minister Pat Rabbitte says he hopes the matter can be resolved before then.
